About CAP Catering, Venues & Culinary Arts
CAP Catering Services is Community Action Partnership of Lake County’s first social enterprise. Established in 2005 when CAP of Lake County opened its newly built administrative and Head Start facility. The new building included a commercial kitchen for meal preparation and a 200-capacity multi-purpose room.
Venue 1: CAP Catering Banquet & Meeting Center, 1200 W. Glen Flora Ave. Waukegan, IL, 200-capacity. Sound system, screen & projector included in rental. Alcohol free. Parking lot. Available weekends, holidays & weekdays during the summer.
Venue 2: CAP Catering Banquets & Dining on Genesee, 206 N. Genesee St. Waukegan, IL, 250-capacity. Ideal for Conferences, Weddings & more. Available Sun-Sat 7 am-12 am, Full bar/wine & beer only.

This catering company must have separate cooks and food for the homeless people because the vegetables are ALWAYS over done, the food is disgusting, and they act like it’s so good and it’s not. I can see that the food in the reviews looks much better than what we get. Whoever is cooking these meals needs to be retrained on how to cook

Had the rib dinner with mac, baked beans, and a cornbread muffins. Didn't even need the extra sauce. Only critique the Mac couple be cheesier.

We had a baby shower here and it was so beautiful! This place is very spacious and clean. Highly recommended!

This review is exclusively for the venue. I made several attempts to contact the venue and was unsuccessful. The online form request didn’t work, so I called the number on the website, left a voicemail, and no call back. I figured it would be better to stop by in person to get information on Monday. One of the event managers was there helping another couple pick up from their wedding from the weekend prior and asked that I call her later in the day since she also had some meetings to attend. I called her by 1:30 as she requested only to get her voicemail and no call back as of today. Planning an event is stressful enough as it is but to constantly have to follow up with a venue is just unacceptable to me. It is a really nice location so it is a shame that I couldn’t get the service I was expecting from them.

I have been dealing with COMMUNITY ACTION 4 MANY YEAR'S!!!! GOD BLESS ALL THE STAFF!!! VERY PROFESSIONAL & PERSONNEL!!! A BIG SHOUT-OUT 2 KATHY BROWN, AIMIE, PAM & THE REST OF THE STAFF, AT THE WATER STREET OFFICE & ALSO ERIKA & GREGORIO AT THE WASHINGTON STREET OFFICE!!!! 4-EVER IN MY HEART!!!!
